Dr. Jill Williams stepped in as WISE Director in November of 2014. Before taking this position, Jill completed an MA in Women’s Studies from the University of Cincinnati and a PhD in Geography from the Graduate School of Geography at Clark University. She has worked extensively with the Geographic Perspectives on Women Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers to increase diversity in the field of geography and promote feminist geographic research more broadly. In addition to developing and implementing outreach and student engagement opportunities as Director of WISE, Jill also maintains an active research agenda focused on understanding contemporary border and immigration enforcement policies and their effects. |

| Margaret Wilch Director of Research at the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF), following a 26 -year teaching career at Tucson High Magnet School. Margaret received a Bachelor’s of Special Studies in Biology (Cornell College), MS General Biology (University of Arizona) and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science (University of Arizona College of Science) in 2012. Margaret provides educational outreach and support to high school teachers and students, helping students to identify tractable research questions and methodologies. She also connects students with mentors through the SARSEF/UA Students Taking Advantage of Research (STAR) outreach lab at UArizona. | ||

| Adriana Picoral holds a PhD in applied linguistics and a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Her research draws from corpus and computational linguistics to shed light on multilingual language use, acquisition, and development. She has extensive experience in collecting, processing, maintaining, and analyzing language data, both in academic settings and in industry. She is also the founder of R-Ladies Tucson, which is part of a world-wide organization to promote gender diversity in the R community. | ||

| Sarah Stueve is a PhD student in the School of Information. Her research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). She is the lead instructor for ISTA 130, a first-semester programming course in Python. Sarah completed bachelors degrees in Information Science and Technology and Communication in 2019 before becoming a masters student, and current PhD student, at UA. She has experience working with students from all backgrounds in learning and using Python, SQL, R, and basic Unix. Her recent research centers around affect and sentiment analysis on social media. | ||
